Crochet Market Bag Pattern

I first designed this market bag pattern in 2022 and I knew it needed a little updating! Not only have I grown as a designer since three years ago, my writing style has also changed! I took this pattern back to the drawing board and worked with my tech editor to make sure this fun (and easy) market bag was as flawless as possible.

As spring approaches, my excitement for the upcoming local farmer’s markets grows. These markets are a treasure trove of fresh produce, offering the sweetest-tasting fruits and the most vibrant vegetables I have ever seen. The atmosphere is lively, with vendors proudly displaying their harvests and families exploring the various stalls. My kids especially love this experience; they eagerly help me choose their favorite items. Their eyes are always bigger than their bellies as they fill my crochet bag with crisp apples, juicy strawberries, and colorful bell peppers. Farmer market days are always a fun family adventure!

Get ready for your own farmer’s market adventure and whip up as many as you can in your favorite colors!

I highly recommend watching the video tutorial above before starting. [Note: the pattern has been updated & may have some slight differences from the video tutorial]

This pattern is written in crochet shorthand. Example: "SC 1" means to single crochet in the next stitch and "SC 30" means to single crochet into the next 30 stitches.

CH 1 does not count as a stitch

CH 5 in pattern will create a loop (LP). These loops will create a mesh design.

When crocheting the mesh section, SC into the CH 5 LP not into the CH
