Here’s How to Do It:
Foundation Row: Chain (CH) a multiple of 5 + 3.
Row 1: Single crochet (SC) in the second CH from the hook. SC 1 in the next CH. [CH 3, skip (SK) 3, SC 2] Repeat (REP) to end of row
Row 2: CH 3. [Double crochet (DC) 3 together in CH 3 space (SP). CH 3, DC 3 together in same SP] REP in each CH 3 SP to end of row. DC 1 in last stitch. Turn.
Row 3: [CH 3. SC 2 in CH 3 SP] REP to last CH 3 SP. CH 3, SC 1 in CH 3 from previous row. Turn.
Row 4: CH 4, DC 3 together in CH 3 SP. [DC 3 together in next CH 3 SP, CH 3, DC 3 together] REP until 1 CH 3 SP remains. DC 3 together in last CH 3 SP, CH 1, DC 1. Turn
Row 5: CH 1. SC 2 in CH 3 SP. [CH 3, SC 2] REP to end of row. Turn.
REP rows 2-5 until you have desired size.
